Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO) is revamping itself with a mission to be an Orchestra for Everyone. With a corporate and social responsibility to entertain, inspire and educate audiences across the whole of Queensland.

This role will see you interact with a wide variety of Education and Community-orientated organisations including; schools, tertiary education institutions, regional community organisations and performing arts venues.

About you:

You will be a proven team player with experience in helping develop and deliver music education and development programs.

This role is 0.8 FTE and will require your flexibility to attend events outside normal business hours: time in lieu and complete flexibility is offered to accommodate this.

Some travel across Queensland will be required at certain times.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and assist the artistic team in the development / delivery of music concerts and workshops, tailored programs and competitions to maximise engagement with students, teachers and families to inspire and develop young musicians
  • Liaise with education providers and government agencies as required
  • Help facilitate music education resources and teacher professional development opportunities aligned to curriculum requirements

To be considered you will possess:

  • Current Blue Card (working with children check)
  • Current knowledge of curriculum and education programs
  • Experience in the coordination of professional development opportunities for music teachers
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
