Join a leading coal operation on a 5-4-1 FIFO roster, driving operational readiness across mobile and fixed assets. Accommodation, travel and meals covered.

This is an initial 3-month contract engineering role, with the possibility of extension beyond this period, based on a FIFO coal mine site in Central Queensland (flying in and out via Emerald).

The Role

You will provide engineering expertise on site, working largely under the direction of the Engineering Superintendent, with a focus on operational readiness projects for both mobile and fixed assets.

Roster and Location

  • Roster: 5-4-1; 4 days on site (fly up Monday morning, leave Thursday afternoon), 1 day remote (Friday), up to 50 hours per week
  • Location: FIFO coal mine site in Central Queensland, flying in and out via Emerald
  • Accommodation, meals, and travel to site all provided

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering expertise and support across operational readiness projects for both mobile and fixed plant assets
  • Work closely with and under the direction of the Engineering Superintendent to deliver on site engineering priorities
  • Support the planning, review, and execution of readiness activities to ensure assets are prepared for operational handover
  • Liaise with site operations, maintenance, and project teams to identify and resolve engineering issues affecting asset readiness
  • Contribute technical input into design reviews, risk assessments, and readiness documentation as required
  • Assist in identifying gaps or risks in mobile and fixed asset systems ahead of commissioning or operational use
  • Maintain clear communication and reporting on project progress, issues, and outcomes to the Engineering Superintendent

Requirements

  • Approved Coal Board Medical (essential)
  • S1, S2, S3 or G2 certifications (ideal)
