The Company

A leading FMCG business is seeking an ambitious and commercially driven National Account Manager to join their sales team on a permanent, full-time basis in Melbourne. This is an exciting step-up opportunity for a talented account manager ready to take on their first national remit and make their mark with some of Australia's biggest retailers.

The Role

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, this is a high-visibility role managing key relationships with major retail partners including Woolworths and Coles. You will take ownership of joint business planning, range reviews, promotional planning and category performance while working closely with internal teams across marketing, supply chain and finance to deliver commercial outcomes.

This role suits someone who has been performing strongly in an account management role and is ready to step up into a broader national position with greater accountability and scope.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing and growing relationships with major retail accounts 
  • Developing and executing joint business plans to deliver volume, revenue and profit targets
  • Leading range reviews, promotional planning and in-store execution strategies
  • Identifying and pursuing growth opportunities across the retail channel
  • Monitoring and analysing sales data, market trends and category performance to inform strategy
  • Collaborating with internal teams including marketing, supply chain and finance to deliver against customer plans
  • Preparing and presenting compelling sales proposals and business cases to retail buyers
  • Managing trade spend and promotional budgets effectively and efficiently

What you will bring

  • Experience in an account management role within FMCG, ideally with exposure to major grocery retailers
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong commercial relationships with retail buyers
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse data and translate insights into action
  • Experience in promotional planning, range reviews and joint business planning
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Ambition and drive to take on a national remit — this is a step-up role and we are looking for someone hungry to grow
