About the Role

This role sits at the centre of a growing property portfolio, preparing management accounts for a national accommodation business that's in the middle of a genuine growth phase. You'll report to the Team Leader, Financial Accounting, and get exposure to both property and corporate accounting from day one, not siloed into one narrow function. The business has just taken on major new international investment and is actively scaling, which means the team is growing and the step from Accountant to Senior Accountant to Team Leader is a real, mapped pathway rather than something dangled in an interview. This is a hybrid role based in Brisbane CBD.

What You'll Be Doing

• Preparing P&L statements across a portfolio of properties, with commentary on variances against budget and forecast
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations, accrual schedules and bank reconciliations
• Managing GST reconciliations, cash flow forecasting and quarterly/annual reporting to property owners
• Supporting property managers with budgets, forecasts and account reviews
• Contributing to half-yearly and annual audits across the portfolio
• Assisting with BAS, FBT returns, statutory financial statements and inter-company reconciliations across Australia and New Zealand
• Reviewing creditor payments, processing corporate credit cards and managing debtor arrears

What We're Looking For

• CA/CPA commenced or nearing completion, with 3+ years in a similar accounting role
• Multi-entity experience - you've prepared accounts across multiple companies or branches, not just run one P&L
• Strong Excel skills (all formulas) and a genuine handle on budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Property or accommodation sector exposure is a bonus, not a must
• You can explain a set of accounts to someone who isn't an accountant, without losing them or your patience
• You're comfortable owning your portfolio and don't need chasing to hit a deadline
