The Company
A well-established and growing manufacturer based in the south of Brisbane is seeking an experienced Distribution Centre Team Leader to join their operations on a permanent, full-time basis.
The role
This is a hands-on leadership role sitting at the heart of a busy distribution centre operation. Reporting to the DC Manager, you will be responsible for leading and motivating a team of warehouse staff to ensure the efficient, safe and accurate movement of goods across inbound, outbound and transport functions. This is a great opportunity for someone who leads from the front and takes pride in building a high-performing team culture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching and developing a team of warehouse and distribution staff on a day-to-day basis
- Overseeing inbound and outbound warehouse operations including receiving, pick and pack, dispatch and inventory management
- Ensuring all transport and logistics activities are executed accurately and on time, including liaison with transport providers and carriers
- Monitoring and driving team performance against KPIs including productivity, accuracy, safety and on-time dispatch
- Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety obligations and promoting a strong safety culture across the team
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to drive efficiency and reduce operational costs
- Managing labour allocation and rostering to meet operational demands
- Supporting the DC Manager with reporting, escalations and continuous improvement initiatives
What you will bring
- Proven experience in a team leader, supervisor or senior operator role within a warehouse, distribution or logistics environment
- Strong people leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop and hold a team accountable
- Solid understanding of warehouse operations including WMS systems, pick and pack, inbound receiving and dispatch
- A safety-first mindset with a sound understanding of WHS requirements in a warehouse environment
- Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
