About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time Payroll Specialist position based on-site at Eagle Farm, reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager. You'll take full ownership of the payroll function for a large, established organisation, managing weekly and monthly payroll cycles for a workforce of 500+. This role is based at Eagle Farm, operating on a 4-day in-office / 1-day work from home arrangement.

What You'll Be Doing

• End-to-end payroll processing for 500+ employees on weekly and monthly cycles
• Accurate processing of salaries, leave balances, deductions and all related transactions
• Maintaining employee records and ensuring personnel files are kept up to date in iChris
• Generating and analysing payroll reports for management reporting and audits
• Statutory payments including superannuation, state payroll tax, Workcover, STP lodgements, ABS and ATO reporting
• Maintaining current award updates and payroll adjustments in iChris
• Interpreting employment agreements and industrial awards, reviewing timesheets, processing terminations
• EOM and EOY reconciliations
• Identifying and implementing process improvements within iChris would be desirable
• Being the go-to for payroll queries from managers and employees across the business
• Liaising with external auditors and providing support as required

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years' experience in a high-volume payroll environment
• 3+ years working with iChris would be desirable
• Demonstrated ability to interpret Awards and payroll legislation
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with EOM, EOY and superannuation reconciliations
• Strong communication skills and confidence advising managers and employees on payroll matters
• Meticulous attention to detail, you're the kind of person who spots a discrepancy before anyone else does!
• You're not above rolling your sleeves up when month-end gets busy
