From humble beginnings with a small Brisbane team in 2003, Optimum has grown to a team of over 30 staff across Brisbane (head office), Melbourne, Perth, The Philippines, and Bali. We recruit across Accounting, Financial Services, Mining, Engineering/Construction, Manufacturing/Supply Chain, Business Support, and IT & Digital.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Recruitment Consultant, skilled in the art of consulting, not just job filling – someone who loves winning clients, and solving their people challenges, through the delivery of outstanding recruitment services.  Our Engineering desk is busy with opportunities across a range of jobs in mechanical, civil, electrical and mining engineering.        

What you'll do

This role will involve all aspects of recruitment, with support from the Brisbane head office and our team of Resourcing Specialists. 

Each day will vary, but here is a snapshot of some key activities: 

• Business Development - Identifying and meeting potential recruitment clients and converting opportunities into job orders.
• Assignment Delivery - Running recruitment assignments from end to end including taking job briefs, searching candidates, advertising vacancies, interviewing, reference checking, placing candidates.
• Negotiating with clients and candidates and ongoing relationship development.
• Opportunity to learn about and introduce other service lines that your clients may value (HR Consulting and Employment Law.).

What you'll bring

Proven experience in Recruitment with:

• Ability to arrange and host face-to-face customer meetings (clients and candidates).
• Consulting capability – finding client problems and offering solutions.
• Delivery of recruitment projects efficiently and effectively.
• A growth mindset.
