About the Business

Our client is a well established importer, stockist and decorator supplying the promotional, retail, fashion and licensed goods markets. Part of a broader group with operations across Australia, New Zealand and the UK, the business has a long-standing reputation for quality and service and is now looking to strengthen its Victorian leadership team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a sales first leadership role. You'll own revenue and profit growth for the Victoria and Tasmania business, build and protect long term client relationships, and drive the company's market position across its trading segments. You'll also lead the warehouse and operations team to make sure service delivery keeps pace with sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver sales and profit targets, with a clear plan to grow the VIC/TAS client base
  • Manage and develop key accounts, resolving issues quickly and maintaining regular proactive contact
  • Track market and competitor activity, feeding intelligence back to the business to inform range and pricing
  • Oversee warehouse, dispatch and indent operations to ensure service levels support the sales effort
  • Directly manage and develop the warehouse and operations team, including rostering and performance
  • Manage outstanding debtors and report sales, stock and trading performance to the Board

About You

  • Proven background in sales, business development or account management, operations or alike
  • A track record of meeting or exceeding sales and profit targets
  • Experience growing and retaining key accounts over the long term
  • Comfortable negotiating pricing and terms while protecting both margin and the relationship
  • Leadership experience including managing or working closely with a warehouse, dispatch or operations team (highly regarded)
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
