Our client is a privately held, Brisbane headquartered resources and industrial business with a significant portfolio across mining, manufacturing and critical minerals. Following the recent acquisition of a major Queensland mining and processing operation, the business has entered an exciting phase of transformation, backed by substantial long term investment and a clear growth strategy.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this newly created leadership position will take ownership of the procurement and purchasing function across a large scale mining and manufacturing operation. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will be responsible for driving procurement strategy, strengthening supplier partnerships, optimising supply chain performance and leading a high performing team of 10.

• Provide strategic procurement advice to the CFO and Executive Leadership Team.
• Develop and execute procurement strategies across mining, processing and manufacturing operations.
• Lead sourcing and category management for capital equipment, mining consumables, MRO, raw materials and major services.
• Negotiate high value commercial agreements including long term supply contracts, EPC/EPCM agreements, OEM equipment purchases and logistics contracts.
• Build and manage strategic supplier relationships to ensure supply continuity and commercial value.
• Drive procurement governance, supplier compliance and contract management across the business.
• Partner closely with operations to support major capital projects, shutdowns, turnarounds and ongoing production requirements.
• Lead inventory optimisation and supply chain improvement initiatives to minimise operational risk.
• Manage procurement budgets, reporting, forecasting and value creation initiatives.
• Lead, mentor and develop a procurement and purchasing team of 10, fostering a collaborative and high performing culture.

• Extensive senior procurement leadership experience within mining, resources, heavy industry or manufacturing.
• Demonstrated success managing procurement across large, complex operational environments.
• Strong commercial acumen with significant experience negotiating high value supplier and service agreements.
• Experience supporting capital projects, shutdowns, maintenance programs and multi site operations.
• Proven ability to influence senior executives and build trusted relationships across operations, finance and leadership teams.
• Experience leading and developing high performing procurement teams.
• Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional procurement qualifications such as CIPS, MCIPS or CPSM will be highly regarded.
