Our client is a privately held, Brisbane headquartered resources and industrial business with a significant portfolio spanning mining, manufacturing and critical minerals.
Following the recent acquisition of a major Queensland mining and processing operation, the business is entering an exciting period of transformation, supported by substantial long term investment and a clear growth strategy.
As part of this growth, we are recruiting for two contract positions within the procurement function:
Procurement Specialist | Initial 6 month contract
Procurement Administrator | Initial 12 month contract
Both positions will play an important role in supporting the procurement function through a period of significant change and increased activity.
Procurement Specialist | Initial 6 Month ContractThis is a hands on procurement role with responsibility for driving sourcing and negotiation activity across the business.
You will take ownership of the full RFQ/RFP process from end to end, working across suppliers and stakeholders to source, evaluate and negotiate commercial outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing RFQ/RFP processes from initial sourcing through to supplier selection and award
Sourcing and evaluating suppliers across raw materials, MRO, capital equipment and logistics/services
Leading commercial negotiations and finalising supply and service agreements
Working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to deliver procurement outcomes
Helping to clear an existing procurement backlog and improve purchasing activity
Managing multiple priorities in a fast paced environment while maintaining commercial rigour
About you:
Proven procurement or purchasing experience within mining, resources or heavy industry
Hands on experience managing RFQ/RFP processes and supplier negotiations
Strong commercial and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work autonomously and hit the ground running
Tertiary qualifications in supply chain, business or a related discipline will be highly regarded
This role will provide essential administrative and coordination support to the procurement team, helping ensure purchasing activity is processed accurately and efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
Raising, processing and tracking purchase orders
Maintaining accurate supplier records and procurement documentation
Supporting RFQ/RFP administration and coordination
Liaising with suppliers regarding order confirmations and delivery timelines
Following up invoice queries and resolving purchasing administration issues
Supporting the wider procurement team with day to day coordination and administration
About you:
Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain or similar administration
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Confident working with procurement or ERP systems
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Clear communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
A proactive approach and willingness to support a busy procurement function
