Are you an experienced Medical Secretary with deep expertise in surgical bookings and a talent for staying two steps ahead in a fast-paced specialist environment? This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing practice where no two days are the same and your ability to pivot quickly truly matters.

About the Role

In this role, you’ll provide one-on-one support to a specialist who is genuinely easy to work with—calm, approachable, and consistently respectful. You’ll join a team that communicates well, supports each other, and maintains a positive, steady workflow. Day-to-day, you’ll manage surgical bookings, liaise with providers, prepare quotes, oversee billing and health fund processes and keep the doctor on track while maintaining a positive, well-organised workflow.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic setting, can manage shifting priorities with ease, and enjoys being the organisational powerhouse behind seamless patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end surgical bookings with accuracy and urgency
  • Coordinate theatre lists, bookings, pre-operative requirements, and follow-up appointments
  • Liaise confidently with hospitals, patients, and clinical partners
  • Handle high-volume patient enquiries with professionalism and empathy
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is complete and compliant
  • Provide general administrative support across the practice as required
  • Anticipate changes, troubleshoot issues, and adjust plans quickly when needed

What You’ll Bring

  • Extensive surgical booking experience (orthopaedic background advantageous)
  • Exceptional organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while managing competing priorities
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confidence navigating practice management and hospital booking systems
  • A team-oriented approach with the ability to work autonomously

Why This Role?

  • 12-month contract with the possibility to transition to permanent employment
  • Supportive team environment
  • Opportunities for skill development within a respected specialist setting

If you’re an experienced Medical Secretary who can confidently coordinate complex surgical logistics and adapt quickly in a fast-paced clinical environment, we’d love to hear from you.
