This role is responsible for the organisation's compliance with statutory requirements of all WH&S requirements, Rehabilitation and Return to Work, Business Continuity programs.

Covering operational childcare centres across Queensland and interstate some travel will be involved.

Reporting to the Head of People, Culture & Safety this role is a 4 day a week permanent opportunity and will be operating at the SLT level.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure all compliance and WH&S aspects are in place and up to date
  • A proactive approach to coach, develop and support stakeholders
  • Assess, monitor, and report all risks
  • Business Continuity Planning including Covid-19 safe Plans across the organisation
  • Implement and maintain all WorkCover, Rehabilitation and Return to Work claims and plans

About You:

To be successful in this role you will possess experience in all areas of Workplace Health and Safety with:

  • Tertiary qualification in WHS or related discipline
  • Certificate IV in training and assessment
  • Experience at similar level with proven experience in managing WHS portfolio
  • Proven experience of WHS issues in childcare NDIS
  • Solid knowledge of State / Territory Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations, Codes of Practice, relevant workers compensation and return to work legislation.
  • A positive, initiative-taking approach with the ability to influence and guide strategy
