The Company

Established for many years, this well-respected industry group is a leader in their field providing unique contracts and services in the infrastructure, resources and construction industries.  The organisation is currently going through major restructure and transformation and as a result, they are looking to complement their executive team with a commercially 'savvy Chief Financial Officer to help them move towards their ambitious goals.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the board and executive team, this business-critical role requires a Chief Financial Officer to drive and improve the performance of the business.

As Chief Financial Officer, you will manage and advise on all commercial and financial elements of the business including advising the CEO and board on major contracts and projects.  You will be responsible for leading debt/equity raising as well as the financial lead for any potential M&A activity.

A hands-on role, you will also be responsible for the performance of the Finance team including financial and management reporting especially monthly and annual board reporting to a seasoned board and sophisticated investor group. You will also be responsible for cash management and other treasury management services.

Your Experience

As Chief Financial Officer, you will be a qualified accountant with extensive experience as a hands-on Chief Financial Officer. Key attributes will include:

  • Proven ability to create financial/management and board reporting papers that highlight your technical nouse and ability to think proactively and commercially on critical business matters;
  • Exceptional financial analysis and modelling knowledge including M&A and due diligence experience;
  • Proven experience in leading a business through acquisition, sale and/or IPO would be a distinct advantage;
  • Proven hands-on ability in leading accounting functions for a business going through continual change and transition;
  • A lateral thinker who can investigate discrepancies, problem solve and deliver improvements;
  • Demonstrated communication skills proven to build relationships with financiers, customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders including board and shareholders.

Due to the unique nature of the business, it is essential that you thrive in working in a dynamic, evolving organisation. There is also a fundamental requirement to balance technical reporting expertise whilst adding commercial value to the CEO, board and executive team.
